This is my very first attempt at painting with pastels.  Actually it's my very first attempt at painting with colour - ever!  I was amazed how easy it was.  In this attempt, we were asked to use only the cool side of the colour wheel, which was interesting.  I only have a limited number of pastels and had to borrow a really dark green, but this is all part of learning and I'm a keen student.
